Meet Sally
As a young
girl out riding her horse on the family farm,
Sally Harper always paid close attention to the
position of the sun in the sky. As it got
lower and sunset approached, she knew she'd have
to turn around and head for home to feed the
livestock. For as long as she could
remember, she and her siblings had been charged
with their care, and it was a responsibility Sally
took very seriously.

A Sense of Commitment
Years later,
Sally applied just as strong a commitment to
helping at risk students find gainful employment
that allowed them to finish school, and in
locating housing for the family members of
out-of-town patients undergoing medical treatment.
In fact, much of Sally's energy has been devoted
to helping others - especially through the more
challenging journeys in life. And in each
case, she's made it her mission to always be there
for them, every step of the way.

A Sense of Responsibility
Much of
Sally's drive to be there for others extends from
the responsibilities she held on her father's
farm. A native of West Medway, her father
owned a chemical manufacturing plant. The
farm was his way of instilling the values of
reliability and conscientiousness in his four
children. They may have been students of
prestigious Tenacre Country Day School and Dana
Hall School, but they were still required to feed
and care for the livestock. Under their
mother's loving tutelage, Sally and her siblings
quickly learned how to develop creative solutions
to meet the daily challenges and responsibilities
of farm life.
A Thirst for New Challenges
The
experience left Sally with a thirst for new
challenges that resulted in a degree in Sociology.
After a tenure in the personnel department for a
major hospital, Sally worked for the Neighborhood
Youth Corps, a federal program devoted to helping
secondary school students. It was this
position that had the greatest impact on her life.
"I learned how important it is for people to feel
they can truly achieve what they want, and
sometimes all it takes is one person they can
count on to guide them on the journey to success."
